One
Earth So Green and Round is a lively participatory songfest
for children which entertains, educates and inspires environmental awareness
and creative expression. Combining original compositions and familiar songs,
Lydia Adams Davis and her wild animal handpuppet friends sing about nature,
animal habits and habitats, methods of recycling, and other current environmental
issues where children can make a difference.
Lydia includes sign language as an added medium of communication for students. Children become "Kid Puppeteers" who, through improvisational dialogue, humor, and songs bring their own ideas and knowledge into the mix. Thus the children (and Lydia!) gain a deeper understanding of our part in protecting the planet.
Follow-up studies in animal habitats, recycling and ecosystems are natural extensions of the program. Creating dioramas, sock puppets, and various art projects are just some of the activities included in residencies.
Lydia presents assembly programs for grades Pre-K-6. She offers songwriting workshops on a variety of environmental themes, working closely with the teacher to develop these ideas and related activities. One Earth So Green and Round (OneEarthSoGreenandRound.com) has a wealth of reptile songs..this is a newly released original album co produced with Kathy Byers. Lydia and Kathy present interactive assembly programs featuring singable science and animal handpuppets for younger audiences.
American Sign Language is incorporated into many of the programs. Lydia holds a Masters Degree in Special Education. Special Needs audiences are welcome.
