One Blue Sky Above Us - Assembly Program
Lydia
presents a lively collection of interactive music and folk tales representing
various cultures. The instrumentation is carefully chosen to best portray
the various musical styles. Children are invited on stage to join in the
performance using percussive instruments from many lands. Thus the children
participate in celebrating the cultural diversity within our community,
bringing a broader awareness of the world of people around us.
Many of the program's songs and stories are already familiar to the children, and include international folk songs from Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean, British Isles, France and Italy, plus some Early American folklore.
