Songs That Build Trust

SONGS THAT BUILD TRUST, an Eco Trio performance, is a drug/alcohol abuse awareness program which focuses on the student as a friend to him/ herself--honest, caring, and sharing his or her feelings.

The performance helps students build self-esteem through upbeat appreciation for the individual's uniqueness and contribution to the home and school community.

Some of the songs identify difficult times and natural responses to them, such as a death in the family, moving to a new school or even, divorce.

Hand puppets model behavior, and interact spontaneously (ad libbing) with the students.

Interactive songs, such as I'd Like to Walk in Your Shoes, and Courage, are about identifying with someone who is unpopular and being treated unfairly. Other songs include a two-bar blues song that the students pickup and sing along.
