One Earth So Green and Round is a lively participatory songfest for children which emphasizes our connection to the environment. Combining original compositions with other favorites, Lydia Adams Davis and her wild animal handpuppet friends sing about nature, animal habits and habitats, methods of recycling, and other current environmental issues in which children can make a difference.

Lydia incorporates sign language as an added medium of communication for students. "Kid Puppeteers" join in improvisational dialogue, humor, and songs, and bring their own ideas and knowledge into the mix. Through this interaction, the children (and Lydia!) gain a deeper understanding of our place in the natural world.

Follow-up studies in animal habitats, recycling and ecosystems are natural extensions of the program. Creating dioramas, sock puppets, and various art projects are just some of the activities Lydia has included in residencies.

Lydia presents assembly programs for grades Pre-K-6 with the Eco Trio, or as a duo or solo performer. She offers songwriting workshops developing these ideas and related activities. Several songs from the CD Time's Running Out for Garbage were written with children and are featured in the show.
